Has pop culture ever ruined anything you previously thought to be awesome? If so, what is it, and how was it ruined?

I read a lot of really bad Fanfiction but that generally doesn't seem to effect me. Got used to it, I guess. The line "The cake is a lie!" really annoys me though. Way too overused. Even by people who haven't played Portal!
